Bibswitch – Keeping Race Numbers in Motion

BIBSWITCH was founded in 2015 by Edina Leiher, a runner who lives in New York City.

Her passion for the sport started in 2009 when she went to a local track with her friend and never looked back. Since then, she has finished close to 70 road running races of various distances, including three NYC Marathons and 17 Half-marathons from Paris to Panama, and from New York to San Francisco.

She is a member of the New York Road Runners (NYRR) – a premier road running organization in NYC, and she is also a member of her local running group – the Hellgate Road Runners (HRR).

The idea of BIBSWITCH came when Edina realized that the main complaint from people in her running circles is around the “no refund or exchanges” policy on race numbers. She believes that the existing rules and their limitations are outdated and don’t make a lot of sense in today’s digital age. She figures that if runners can push through the challenges of a race; they can also push through the challenges associated with changing these policies.

With a Master’s degree in Policy Analysis (NY-USA), Edina has insight into creating long-term change that positively benefits both individuals and groups of people. She hopes that this experience will help to make BIBSWITCH a positive force of change in the running industry.
